Art Appreciation introduces the student to the importance of art in today\u2019s world and the purposes art has served from prehistoric through modern times in a variety of cultures both Western and non-Western.
\nAt the conclusion of this course, students should be able to<\/p>\n
Homework and Reading Assignments:\u00a0Students will read constantly, one or two chapters (if not more) per week in Art in Focus<\/i> for discussion in class.\u00a0 Homework assignments include a critique and an original artwork with an oral presentation.\u00a0 In-class discussions are not graded for participation but are the basis for the essay questions on the tests.<\/p>\n
